To protect your privacy, Amway Taiwan Company Limited (hereinafter “Amway”) has established the privacy policy below, which provides for Amway’s collection, processing, and use of your information. If you have any question regarding this policy, you are most welcome to contact Amway at all times.

Method for Collecting Information

We may obtain your personal information through the following channels:

  • (1) When Amway distributors join Amway, Amway may collect the distributor’s personal information through written application with the applicant’s signed consent.
  • (2) Amway may collect the personal information left by distributors when distributors use services on Amway’s website.
  • (3) Amway may collect the personal information provided by non-distributors making use of Amway’s website.
  • (4) Amway may collect personal information through other marketing activities.

Any personal information belonging to you collected by Amway is protected under this privacy policy and is subject to the rules herein.

Scope of the Information Collected

Depending on your relationship with Amway, the scope of personal information collected by Amway may vary.

  • 1. Distributors: including (1) personal information distributors have agreed to leave with Amway; (2) personal information within the scope of specific purposes as recognized by Amway (for such scopes, please see the Distributor Consent Letter).
  • 2. Non-distributors: personal information left with Amway with the prior consent of the Non-distributor.

You may choose whether or not to provide Amway with your personal information and how much personal information to provide. However, some website functions or services depend upon the accuracy and completeness of the personal information provided by you. If you do not provide complete and accurate personal information, some website functions or services cannot be used.

Purposes of Collecting Information

Amway collects the identifiable personal information primarily for the following purposes:

  • 1. Distributors: If you are an Amway distributor, we will primarily use your personal information to assist you in developing Amway business, including : promotion, purchase and sale of goods or services; mutual understanding, guidance, assistance, integration, and operation between the upline and downline [distributors] in the sponsoring system; and your assisting, attending, and participating in the development of Amway’s image, non-profit events, and other outsourced research-related activities for which such information may be used. Furthermore, Amway may transfer your personal information internationally for the integration and operation of Amway business.
  • 2. Non-distributors: When you become a customer, we will use the personal information provided by you to ensure that your purchase experience is [satisfactory] with efficient and high-quality services. When you are only a potential consumer, we may use your personal information for marketing activities or for joint sales.

Sharing of Information

Except for the points listed below in this section, we shall not sell, lease, or in any way provide or transfer your personal information to a third party without obtaining your prior consent. Any personal information provided by you shall be kept at reliable placesin Taiwan or outside of Taiwan where Amway global headquarters or its branch offices are located.

  • 1. Distributors: In accordance with Amway’s commercialauthorization, you will receive advices and recommendations regarding direct sales business from professional staff. To effectively reach the goal above, we may provide your sponser or your upline distributor (together “Independent Business Owner”, hereinafter “Distributors”) with your personal information. The Distributors have agreed not to disclose your personal information to any unrelated third party and are obligated to strictly abide by the provisions of this privacy policy. Under ordinary circumstances, disclosing your personal information to Distributors shall assist your direct sales business. If you do not wish that we disclose your personal information to Distributors, we will provide you with an opportunity to refuse disclosure.
  • 2. Customers: To maintain a high quality of customer service, we may provide distributors serving you with your personal information to ensure that throughout the entire process from purchase to delivery of the goods, you enjoy an greatpurchasing experience. The distributors have all agreed not to disclose your personal information to any unrelated third party and are obligated to strictly abide by the provisions of the privacy policy. You may notify Amway that you do not wish Amway to provide the distributors with your personal information, through your account settings on the Amway website or through click the Contact Amway at the bottom of the Website.
  • 3. Regular Use: To effectively serve distributors and customers, Amway may, within thepermisson of the law, provide its branch offices or vendors with the personal information of distributors or of customers for the purpose of assisting distributors in the development of their direct sale business and of providing excellent service to customers.
  • 4. Legal Requirements: Amway may, if ordered by a court or instructed by government authorities, provide your personal information. Furthermore, Amway reserves the right to report to the enforcement departmentswhen we reasonably suspect that there are illegal activities, and in the event of such report, your personal information may be disclosed to protect more important social safety and public interests.

Protection of Information

Your account number and all information you have stored on the Amway system shall be protected by the encryption of this website to ensure privacy and safety. In some circumstances, our website, via the SSL encryption system, provides for the security of data transmission. Amway will adopt appropriate measures to prevent the unauthorized storage access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of information, which measures include internal examination for the practice of information collection, use and processing of the practical and for supplementary security measures for ensuring that no unauthorized storage and access of personal information on the system occurs.

Amway will only permit Amway employees, contractors, or agents who have a need to obtain the personal information to process or use such information and they may only process or use such personal information within the scope of the specified purposes on our behalf or assisting us in handling relevant matters. Such above-mentioned personnel shall respect the duty of confidentiality and sign relevant confidentiality agreements or may be punished for failure to do so. Consequences of such failure include dismissal, civil damage, and criminal litigation.

Rights You May Claim or Exercise with Respect to Information

Upon logging in to your account on Amway’s website, you may inquire, register, or modify personal information and set your preferences. If you find that certain information is incorrect and may not be corrected, you may also dial 03-3537800 for the customer service hotline to require that we supplement or correct your personal information or that we issue a copy (but a fee may be required; more information on this course of action may be found in other Amway announcements). At any time, you may also require Amway to cease collection, processing, or use of your personal information. Furthermore, when Amway has no legal requirement or business need to keep storing such information, you may request that we delete your personal information. However, if your request is not required by law, we may deny your request.

Use of Cookies and other Tools on Our Website

To provide service more closely matching your needs, our website and our website’s services may use tools such as Cookies to automatically receive and record your browser’s server information, including IP addresses, information within cookies, and user’s webpage access records.

International Users

As mentioned above, the personal information provided by you may be stored at and transferred by Amway headquarters or branch offices around the world. However, regardless of whether your personal information is stored in Taiwan or outside of Taiwan, Amway will abide by the statements and provisions under this privacy policy as well as each country’s local laws and regulations, ensuring the protection of your privacy rights in accordance with the strictest standards.

Protection of Children’s Privacy

Amway places special importance on protecting children’s privacy. We encourage the parents to play an active role in relation to children’s online activity. Our website will not intentionally or purposefully collect the personal information of children under 16 years of age. Upon discovery of such collection, we will immediately delete such personal information.

Option to Withdraw from Services

If you are unwilling to have your personal information stored on our website or if you do not wish to receive messages related to marketing business activities, you may notify us via written mail or telephone. Upon receiving such notice to cease using your information and confirming your identity, we will, within a reasonable time on the basis of the system and operational demand, notify your distributors, each department within Amway, the storage centers, and all relevant personnel of our vendors to cease use of your information and make necessary changes in the computer control system.

Regarding Changes to this Policy

Amway has the right to modify this policy at any time in accordance with changes to the content of Amway’s services, technical developments, and changes to the law. After modification of this policy, Amway will post an announcement on Amway’s website but will not send individual notices.
